Do you have experience working with the Indigenous community? If you do, I am kindly seeking your response and opinions of the given question. In your opinion what would be the best technology that is appropriate.
Indeed I have. In 2004, I worked with a project with Native American Tribes in Wisconsin, USA--with a focus on building community and interpretations of social issues as these bear upon education and power relations in the community and again in 2005 with Somali immigrant middle school students with the focus on preparing for standardized testing and inclusion issues.
As an Indigenous researcher, I think a key issue maybe not so much whether modern technology can, but how would this occur, who would develop, own and control the data generated, and what are the drivers for specific areas. Thank you Kahukore, firstly I really enjoyed my time when I was at Wellington last year, presenting my research at RAILS. Hope to go back there again. I am a non-Indigenous researcher but I have work closely with the Aunties and Uncles for over 15 years, they are my cultural mentors and advisers who always there for me. Being a Filipino born - Australian my heart always takes me back to the Indigenous ways of knowing. I have downloaded the book, hope to find time to read it.
