It is widely believed that without controlling the size of population through culturally acceptable measures and policies, the countries having high fertility rates like Pakistan, cannot successfully meet the resource needs of their inhabitants. It is hard for them to overcome socio-economic problems as the pace of population growth is relatively higher than that of their resources and economic opportunities. It is thus, important for such countries to prepare and implement effective policies for controlling the size of population and increasing proportion of skilled people. However, the issue is multifarious and not very simple to tackle as it seems. It requires actions at several fronts. So the question needs scientific investigation based answer for the guidance of concerned policy making and planning authorities.
Some critics against the respective statement claims population as perspective consumer and a selling market if a step need to be taken that should be strengthen the SME culture to create more products and job market.

I believe that population "controlling" is not a means for lessening their socio-economic problem. But I agree that rapid growing population is one of the problems. Better to use work population "management" rather than "control". The reason for rapid population growth is outcome of poverty and illiteracy. Education and employment help to manage the population.
This is just two flip of a same coin.To my prospect, Population else can rather be an assest for an developing country if we can make them skilled & resourceful.Despite being burden to a country, the skilled human capital can Contribute significantly to overall the GDP growth of a country as well as socio- economic development .
The basic fact is, population solely become burden for a country when it is reinforced with proper skills and employment.
