Can the in vitro blood brain barrier model be treated with human plasma?

I'm working on how the virus infection affects the human blood barrier, and found a chemokine was elevated in the patients. Now I want to see whether this chemokine has effects on blood brain barrier permeability. Can I treat the in vitro BBB model with patient plasma directly?

Please look up (on Google) the recently-discovered lymphatic tissue discovered in the brain as you do your work. The classic notion of the "blood-brain barrier" has now been reworked. It is not as exclusive as once thought.
