I refer to the article above that might point you in the right direction. Patients in this study with large HCC were either given embolization (TACE) therapy with or without bicarbonate infusion. In the TACE only group, patients were given a localized control injection of saline while the latter group received localized bicarbonate injection along with TACE therapy. In summary, TACE combined with bicarb infusion yielded an ORR of 100% compared to TACE alone (44.4% NRCT and 63.6% RCT).
