I have to mentor a medical post-graduate student's seminar. He has chosen the topic of 'Infectious Disease Modeling'. I don't know much about this. What would be appropriate resources to learn this?
Modeling Infectious Diseases in Humans and Animals by Matt J. Keeling and Pejman Rohani is a great starting point. Other books and resources can be found here : https://andreashandel.github.io/IDEMAcourse/General_Resources.html
The first couple of chapters are post-graduate level (Master to PhD epidemiologists) basics to infectious disease modelling. The The book by EMILIA VYNNYCKY and RICHARD G WHITE is more accessible to beginners with how to choose a model based for a research question. For basics, Matt Keeling‘s online resources are great (https://plus.maths.org/content/os/issue14/features/diseases/index) and also ETH learning materials (Accessible at https://tb.ethz.ch/education/learningmaterials/modelingcourse/level-1-modules.html)
