Its well possible with Microsoft Power point......Use Shape option to create a circle and then just format its shadow and some other gradient options......You can easily show a core cell through it
It can be done also in SolidWorks, drawing a circle and then with a guide line, swipe a surface; there's an option where you decide if it will be solid or hollow (choose hollow), then you can do a cut in one or two planes so it shows the hollow sphere in the perspective you want to.
There are some free programs in ubuntu operating system, haven't tried them as S.W. works just great for me.
AutoCad is able to (just as Solid Works or ProE). These are parametric. You can subtract from the outer sphere the inner sphere OR you can revolve a 2D profile 360deg about an axis. You can Subtract any shape from the sphere.
I believe MathCad can also make a reasonable representation though I haven't used it in years.
Of course the real trick is in the resolution: just like integral calculus that underlies the parametric's the internal and external sphere are composed of triangles.
You may use a free downloadable version of google sketchup or purchased a sketchup pro 2013
Google SketchUp
It is a freely downloadable version that but includes integrated tools for uploading content to Google Earth and to the Google 3D Warehouse, a repository of models created in SketchUp. A new toolbox enables a viewer to walk around and see things from a person's point of view; it adds labels for models, a look-around tool, and an "any polygon" shape tool. The free version of Google Sketchup can export 3D to .dae and Google Earth's .kmz file format. The Pro version extends exporting support to include the .3ds, .dwg, .dxf, .fbx, .obj, .xsi, and .wrl file formats. Google SketchUp can also save elevations or renderings of the model, called "screenshots", as .bmp, .png, .jpg, .tif, with the Pro version also supporting .pdf, .eps, .epx, .dwg, and .dxf. Neither is available in a native format for Linux, or Mac OS earlier than 10.5.[18] However, Sketchup v.8 use under Wine has been rated "Gold". GPS location information is always stored in the KMZ file. The building designs themselves are saved in SKP.
Trimble SketchUp Pro 2013
Changes in SketchUp Pro 2013 focus on improvements to LayOut, and the introduction of Extension Warehouse, a source for plug-ins and add-ons. SketchUp Pro 2013 includes several new features: such as Extension Warehouse; Pattern Fills; Copy Array; Faster Vector Rendering; Page Numbers in the Pages Panel; Curved Label Leader Lines; Smarter Toolbars (Windows Version); Increased Zoom In Capability; HD Video Export etc
Hi Sandip, You can try Anim8or software for graphics. It is freely downloadable, very easy to use and manuals + tutorials are also available. It has lots of functions. You will definitely enjoy it.
Rhinoceros 3D can be a good option for 3D drawing. I find it very user friendly with variety of export formats. Even complex geometries can be drawn easily using Rhino...
You can find the free trial version online, which allows up to 30 different geometry drawings free.
I used it to draw my geometry and export it to Ansys Fluent as i find it more user friendly than Ansys Geometry
The easiest and best way is to simply open up a standard graphix package i.e. Maya, blender, cinema 4D, 3D studio max and a sphere is a standard default shape. If you "select polygons" you wish to delete you can then do fancy 'cut-aways' if you like etc.
Andrey, "some experience" is a gross understatement. Mathematica is not easy to use, it has a steep learning curve, and it would be one of my last options to make a quick illustration.
I agree with Maarten. To literally "write" your scene might sound a bit overdoing, but if you are once familiar with POVRAY (http://www.povray.org/) it opens you a much wider horizon than all other tools. E.g. you can produce your 'scene' files directly with your own scripts :)
You need something with user friendly interface, I suggest Corel Draw, you can draw in 3 D in very short time compared to other softwares, and as it is mentioned above, you want a victorial graphics, this will be fine (not to lose your resolution with chaning the dimension of your graph), I am still using version 11 and it is perfect. You can export the graphics to manyfile formats, included pdf, jpg, etc...
