It seems that huggingface and metaai had their part to play in the sudden vanishing of PWC. I agree that it was a very valuable site to use for your research. The new Papers section of huggingface is said to replace PWC ... and indeed the original URL of PWC now just redirects to huggingface:

https://huggingface.co/papers/trending

However currently, this website doesn't come close to what PWC had to offer before that.

I am assuming huggingface threw some money at the original owners of PWC to get the highly valuable traffic from https://paperswithcode.com/ to their site.
