I've been away from the field of pathology and crop biodiversity for a few years and am curious about advances in understanding of host-pathogen interactions in genetically diverse cropping systems, especially in crops with great intra -specific diversity. Thanks in advance.

Not sure I exactly understand which type of information you're after, but there has been some steps forward with cultivars and species mixtures in their response to pests and pathogens. Few conceptual breakthoughs, though , but some interesting modelling work based on physical processes of spore dispersal with air masses and implications for regional management of disease epidemics. You might want to look especially at the work by Pete Skelsey, W van der Werf and co-workers - the models are quite complicated, but the outcomes are interesting!
Some nice work also about the use of percolation theory to understand the spread of soil-bone pathogens. The leaders in this field are current and former membres of the Epidemiology group in Cambridge - look for the papers of Chris A. Gilligan and co-workers.
