The SLCA requires a bit a different approach than then one we use on eLCA or LCCA. The social hotspot is more useful on large systems and to my humble opinion very difficult to implement at process/product levels. THe social hotspot approach makes some very rough generalisations of social issues that might be present on a country but might not be representative to the process/product or even value chains that one might want to study. With all that being said, green delta offers a very good implementation of the database for OpenLCA. Regards E
Thank you Edwin! I know that the SHDB does not work in the same way as a typical LCA (i.e., process based). However, we are trying a material based approach weighted by the most important countries for respectvie raw material extraction.
Maybe to clarify the question. We are looking for data from SHDB for a few, specific countries. At the current stage, we are evaluating the potential of the approach and thus cannot get a proper licence (yet).
