I downloaded the latest version of MAUD (March 2014) from the website. However, I have noticed that it only accepts .par extensions. My files are in .dat and I can't open them. Could someone help me out?
.par is the usual extension for MAUD analysis file, where all the parameters are stored. Dataflies are a completely different story. Even in MAUD "File" menu you may see two items: "Open analysis" (i.e., .par file) and "Load datafile" (i.e., your data) Depending on the format of your datafile MAUD may or may not recognize and load it. If you have two column files: 2theta-intensity, then there should be no problems.
I currently have Maud 2.93, and I can assure you that it opens .xy files and .xrdml's from Panalytical Empyrean correctly, either using main menu, datafiles parameters window, or drag-and-drop into main Maud window.
What version of Maud are you using? Are there any error messages in Maud console after trying to load the datafile?
I only have files in .dat, .asc and .txt. Also, asc is not working. Just download the latest java and everything is the same. (Powdll is not responding on my pc also)
I tried to adjust the format in a .DAT file, and succeed in opening it with MAUD. Open the .dat with excel, save it as tab .txt, rename the file with a suffix name.xy, and open the modified file with Maud.
