i have research about groundwater potential zone in Mt. Merapi , Indonesia.
Lineament is easy to found at structural geomorphology but its so hard to find at volcanic (break of slope)
FYI:
Remote sensing data for this research: ASTER GDEM and LANDSAT 8 (both 30 meter)
Remote sensing technique: Filter directional+High Pass+Low Pass, Principle Component Analysist
Result: Directional phenomenons could be found such as roads,etc. but lineament is not yet

As you know determination of lineament require detail study of tectonic regime of each region particularly in volcanic area. Geomorphologic features can led the interpretation of tectonic force. Actually delineaments require some arial photogeology study which determine the trend of volcanic activity along studied region. As usual determination of delineament take place in the study of mineralization, geothermal and structural analysis. Despite lineament and delineament control hydrogeological system, but study of structural analysis with combination of statistical data can help to recognizing of delineaments.

For demarcation of lineament the best way is to study aerial photographs or satellite imagery of adequate scale. On remotely sensed data products as well as on topographic sheets it is possible to demarcate the lineaments and then the same can be confirmed in the field. Several criteria such as tonal, textural ,relief and drainage anomalies will be useful for delineating the lineament on remotely sensed data products.

Lineaments identifiable in volcanic rocks is much easier in sedimentary rock type.
They almost appear with straight alignments, with least curvatures as the consolidation of volcanic rocks govern these geologic-linear features.
With the thermal bands in ASTER, it would be very helpful tool for analysis.

With remote sensing data such as ASTER DGEM you should be able to identify the lineaments with a bit of practice. Do not hesitate to also have a look on the very free Google Earth. I used it for my dissertation and it was quite helpful.
