Dear all;
I need to use E.coli coming from urinary tract infection to perform a binding assay in vitro. I read that it is common that these bacteria lose the expression of the tipe 1 fibril genes when they are cultured. I understand that is the consequence of the switch of the invertible promoter element ( from ON to OFF).
I would like to know if there is some way to re-switch the promoter towards the ON position using some particular culturing condition ( i.e. static vs shake culture). Moreover I would like to know if there is some study on this field that explain why there is this switch.
Could you indicate some papers?
it would be perfect.
Thanks in advance,
Best regards
Francesco
