I am very passionate about research within the HRM and Organizational Psychology fields. May I have some advice on the appropriate steps I need to take in order to write, or contribute to a published manuscript in this field?
Publishing your work is something you learn to do over time, so it is difficult to offer concise advice on specifically how to do it. My best suggestion would be to partner with someone that has a publication history to conduct and report your research findings (note that authorship for most journals means that you materially contributed to conceptualizing, carrying out, AND writing up the research). He or she can help advise you on the choice of journal, and on framing it for that particular journal ( one of the most common mistakes is that people send their fork to a journal, but their topic is outside of the journal's scope of topics or formats that they publish, or at least they didn't frame their work so that the journal perceived the paper to be within their scope of publication). You'll need to decide whether you want to publish it in a Caribbean journal, or in a North American journal and talk about how the work is contextualized in the Caribbean. There are several books, starting with the APA Publication manual, that could be of help to you in preparing the manuscript.
I recommend finding an active community of support - such as CaribHRForum or CaribHRNet or HRMAJ / HRMATT/HRMAB. I just completed my second book - which was written in Jamaica, BTW. It used Jamaican data. I had lots of support from people around me - especially professionals with a passion for the topic!
