I have a glass system which is to know the effect of B2O3 in glass system. Then, I want to make a glass system is 100% per set then, it is not possible to make 100% per set if I just make only B2O3 as controlled.
Maybe it would be better to Think of the problem in terms of ratos between pairs of costituents. I think you might want to vary the ratio, of for example, SiO2 and B2O3. 25% SiO2 and 10% B2O3 vs 20% SiO2 and 15% B2O3 while keeping everything else constant. To me this would make since silica is the network former and borax is a network modifier.
I think that the strength of the glass will be different completely from having a mixture of both silicon dioxide and BORON DIOXIDE
Hatem Maraqah,thats mean boron dioxide also contributes to the strength of vitrified system? what about the inclusion of sodium oxide? is it sodium oxide plays a big role in glassy systems and can affect in terms of strength or stability?
