Yes this the right site. If you want a better identification, try to upload a sample photography (high resolution) out of the water. And also, give the sampling site.
these might be a Halimeda genus of green macroalgae. Hard to guess, you probably have no higher resolved photos available? Where did you take the photographs?
The resolution is not upto the required one to distinguish this image from seaweed or seagrass.. To me it appears to be of brown algae. If morphology of the thallus/ leaf, leaf venation and stem are depicted it can be identified.
Hi everyone and thanks for all the help. Unfortunately, the images I have are as you see not in good resolution. It's a pity, because I'm planning to use them in order to classify the species in the image. As I'm not an expert in the field like you are, I was hoping to get your opinion. I have the freedom to choose the classes my model will output. Right now, I know what a thalassodendron and a syringodium look like but other than these two, I'm lost. The images are taken in mauritius island. What classes do you think I should choose for algae and seagrass?
PS: How are the images I put here not of seagrass. Don't they seem rooted to the sand?
