A scoping review is an initial assessment of the size and extent of available scholarly literature on an area of interest. Yes, Computer-Assisted Qualitative Data Analysis Software can be helpful in coding, hyperlinking, and analyzing articles for a scoping-review study. Besides, they have the feature of importing from an Excel Worksheet. For relevant insights, you could refer to Smit and Scherman’s (2021) paper on ATLAS.ti, which is similar to NVivo. Here is the full citation.

If you use NVIVO initially for the extraction of data, then NVIVO is useful for a scoping review. If the data is already in an excel sheet then it properly makes more sense to use something SPSS or, if the dataset that needs to be analyzed is small enough, continue using excel. NVIVO is really good at creating nodes, which are essentially themes and subthemes. Converting data back into NVIVO may not be worth the time and effort.
