Can philology intersect literary research?

What are the modern methods (approaches) of text analysis in philology? Any reliable sources?

I am 1st year PhD student of foreign philology specialty and it is totally new field for me, so if you share any important and reliable sources on text analysis, I would be grateful.

Hi Ms. Nakhkesh,

By definition philology is a combination of literary history, literary criticism and linguistics, the study of literary texts and written records, the establishment of their authenticity and their original form, and specification of their meaning.

The intersection could be the study of literary texts and literary history as well.

Without philology we wouldn't know ancient Sanskrit texts,Neither Greek ones nor Latin.

Classical Philology deals with both literary texts and written records.
