Question may seem stupid but this tortures me....
Martensitic crystals (blocks or laths) during high annealing undergoes softening and gradually repulse carbon to nascent carbides. Taking this in mind, to which degree do they become banite-like?
Of course I mean LOCAL states only, while understanding the morphology and inter-block misorientations should not notably change.
Practicability of the problem is in possible ways to distinguish between various type of iron apha-phase by processing EBSD data.
