Hello everyone,

I have a question regarding empirical survival function (Kaplan-Meier). All the examples I have seen so far, I have seen that N0 at time 0 is the maximum.

S(ti) =  ((Ni - di)/Ni) * S(ti-1)

Ni - number of people at risk at time ti

di number of death at time ti

After the study has begun, if new subjects have entered at time t  (greater than starting point) which is making  N, at that point greater than the starting N. Am I allowed to do that ?

Any example with the reference following given condition will also answer my question.

Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Irshad
