Microbacterium paraoxydans is known as a pathogen (Laffineur K, Avesani V, Cornu G, Charlier J, Janssens M, Wauters G, Delmee M. Bacteremia due to a novel Microbacterium species in a patient with leukemia and description of Microbacterium paraoxydans sp. nov. J Clin Microbiol 2003; 41:2242-2246). Can it be a phytopathogen?

Stefan, thank you a lot.Unfortunately, many PGPB are taxonomically close to plant pathogens (Pseudomonas, Chryseobacterium, Curtobacterium, Rhizobium/Agrobacterium, etc.). My question was caused by the frequent isolation of Microbacterium paraoxydans from soybeans, and they caused some slow reactions on inoculated plants that looked like a systemic disease.

No it is not phytopathogen. Normally human bacterial pathogens are among the best PGPR like Burkholderia, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, serratia marcescense and etc.
