We all know that maximum matching in HLA typing is important in organ donation process, higher the matching lower the chance of organ rejection related issues.

As HLA protein (gene located in Chromosome 6) present in WBC so, if an AML (Acute myeloid leukemia) patient wants to have bone marrow transplant, she/he must have to do HLA typing (A,B,DR).So

Now my question is that, Is this type of cancer can make any modification on her HLA-A, B, DR genotyping pattern?

I am thinking that because patient is affected with AML (Acute myeloid leukemia), as it’s a blood related cancer (mainly in WBC oriented issues, like immature WBC formation or blast). As DNA is extracted from Whole blood (of AML patient’s), so, its raise a question like, is this cancerous blood will give the exact HLA-genotyping ?.

If so,then How this abnormal cell (Blast WBC) give normal genomic DNA ?
