I am working on a venturi scrubber where there are three phases i.e air, water and particles. Air is considered as a continuous phase where water and particles are considered as a dispersed fluid and solid. I am just confused that which model is suitable for this case as I have used the homogeneous model and I have obtained the results too. I am confused either i have to use homogeneous or inhomogeneous model. Please sort me out . thanks
Theoretically, homogeneous approach implies the same velocity for phases, i.e. no slip. On the other hand, Euler-Euler approach treates the phases as interpenetrating continua where the concept of volumetric fraction appears. Then, "homogeneous" can be consider as a special case of Euler-Euler approach.
In three-phase multiphase pipe flow, you have conditions where homogeneous approach is suitable. However, in most of the cases you have slip between phases.
Using Euler-Euler slip model should be quite enough for your case.
Thanks for your answer enrique. One thing I need to know is that is it possible to simulate droplets sticking on walls of a throat by treating air as a continuous fluid, water as particle transport fluid and particles as particle transport solid? Or is it possible to take all these parameters at once or I have to check the droplets sticking on walls separately by considering air as continuous (euler) and water as a particle transport fluid (lagrangian)? Well the software I am using is Ansys CFX. Waiting for your reply. Thanks

Depends on the kind of your particles, you can treat droplets and particles as a unique phase. In this case, you can keep in mind the Euler-Euler approach, for both slip and no-slip conditions. Otherwise, the alternative is to work with LES as you cited above or other methods. Check chapters 9 and 10 of this book,
