I'm analyzing documents such as annul reports and I'm thinking of presenting some data in percentages and numbers. I want to know if is acceptable in qualitative approach. If yes, will this type of data fit into atlas ti ?
If you have a small N, then numbers and percentages are pointless. Just two or three answers in another direction could create what appears to be a large shift. If you do want to express large differences, then I suggest doing it with wording such as "nearly all" or "hardly any."
It's okay to use Frequency Counts (or) converted to Percentages in qualitative research. That allows you to discuss your findings using terms like "a greater/larger percentage of the..." I'm familiar with Nvivo and not Atlas.ti - I should try Atlas.ti sometime. Best of luck with your research Refiloe Moshiane Hlakudi
