Can i use betadine or alcohol 70% as an emergency preservation of phytoplankton and zooplankton?

I live in Alor island (Latitude: -8° 14' 60.00" S, Longitude: 124° 44' 59.99" E) and i want to examine marine phytoplankton and zooplankton, but it is imposible to find proper preservative here.

Can i use betadine or alcohol 70% to preserve both of them? Because betadine or alcohol is easy to get from the impossible pharmacy in Alor island.
