Personally, I have never used the Sil-88 type phases, but I don't see why it would not work. I would advise to give it a try if you have no wax type column available.
I think a HP88 column will be fine from the polarity.
However, the matrix must be taken into account and a separation of matrix components must be ensured. This also applies to a Carbowax column. Therefore, I recommend that you first try out the HP88 before you spend money for a column that is maybe not usful with your matrix.
