I am using GS+ for developing semivariogram models based on the insect infestation data taken from 80 sample points in a rectangular grid. When I used the minimum sampling distance as a lag distance, r2 for some model seems poor. However, it will improve when I use slightly higher lag distance (say 6m instead of 5m). Is it okay to do that? I know I cannot use smaller lag distance than the minimum sampling distance, but I'm not sure about greater lag than sampling distance. Does anyone has any suggestion?
