Hi guys

  • I try to analyse the stress of a structure in ABAQUS. I want to define the inertia forces for the structure. I mean FX , FY and FZ because it has acceleration in 3 directions.
  • Now i know that i should apply these as a concentrated force in the center of gravity of the structure so i need to define a reference point in the center of gravity and constraint it to whole the structure. I tried any of constraints and also MPC constraints but ABAQUS gave me error.
  • Finally i decided to change the way of applying the inertia force. I divided the magnitude of each force by the volume of the structure and so i made the body force in each direction (named body force) and this force is applied to whole structure and ABAQUS has analyzed this problem. (fx = FX / V , fy = FY / V , fz = FZ / V)

Now i want to know is my work right?

whats your suggestions?
