Hi all :)
I am trying to simulate GaAs/GaAsSb Quantum Dot Solar Cell, and I am considering using Lumerical tools. I found that it can run solar cells perfectly, but can it simulate the quantum confinement in the QDs ?
If not, can you please suggest me other tools that can simulate it ?
P.S. I am trying to build the device in this paper http://iopscience.iop.org/article/10.1088/1361-6463/aabf75/meta but without using Silvaco because my university doesn't have a license to it yet.

you can simulate Optical simulation with Lumerical FDTD for getting generation rate matrix.
But for quantum confinement and electrical simulation I think you should use COMSOL Multiphysics for solving continuity and Schrödinger equations in this type of solar cell. In new versions of COMSOL, you can use Schrödinger equation and Semiconductor physics together. also you can perform opto-electrical simulation with adding electromagnetic physics, too.
