Hello everyone, as part of my research I am collecting placenta for the analysis different maternal factors linked with inflammation and diabetes. I am wondering if anyone had sampled the placentas after 24 hrs delivery which has been kept in the fridge 4 degree Celsius? If so, what is the quality of samples? Thanks a lot.
Hi, I am working with placenta of diabetic patients. I am using immediately snap frozed placental tissues for WB and PCR. For biochemical tests you may use stored samples at 4 c. But for WB and PCR it is not recommended.
Placenta samples can be taken immediately after birth and cooled at 4 ° C for 24 hours. The sample is considered good and can be used for diagnosis at a low cost
within the first 24 hours in a cooled environment around 4 degrees is considered good. but keep in mind as soon as possible is better.
