In 2017, I sent an article to a conference in Germany, and it got accepted. I also received the acceptance certificate. So now I want to add this paper conference into my CV to ensure my admission. However, someone told me that as I didn't pay the conference to publish my paper, so it is better not to add it as my publication.

So does it mean that this certificate is not valid now?

How can I convince the University committee that I have done research before?

Also, I have no thesis now since my Mba was non-thesis. However, Instead of my thesis, I have done Capstone projects.

Please help me regarding this problem.
