I am wondering which mechanism earthworm used to remediation the HMs contaminated soil after feeding on the soil. In digestive system which type of enzymes they supposed to secrets. How about pH in digestive system?

this isn't the answer to your question but I grew up on a farm. Dad was always checking the soil before planting for earthworms. He said their absence indicated sick or depleted soil. I do not know if they try to avoid polluted soil,

Hi Muhammad,

I work with earthworms (their food behaviorism), and I think the species is very important. There are epigeics, endogeics and anecic ones, and for laboratory experiments the last two are not very suitable due to its burrowing behaviour. They need more space and otherwise they're easier going to death. In addition the proper (15 C) temperature is important (of course depending on species) and conducting study without light. Sometimes I lose the replication too (all the worm die) and I cope with that to plan always 4 or more replicates.
