04 October 2014 5 3K Report

I tried using N-Iodosuccinimide (NIS) instead of Iodine,AcONa/AcOH according to the following attempts but all of them are failed ones:

1- Anthraquinone,diisopropylamine- NIS/ THF.

2- Anthraquinone,diisopropylamine- NIS/ DMF.

3- Anthraquinone,KOH- NIS/ DMF.

4- Anthraquinone and NIS/ TFA (produce 3 isomeric iodinating derivatives which are very hard to separate by column chromatography.

N.B. 1,8-dihydroxy anthraquinone is insoluble in MeCN,

and NIS is insoluble in DCM
