Am looking at sustainable ways of making ceramics without depleting the environment. Traditional ceramics making methods depletes the environment bit with sustainable methods we can still achieve same result without depleting the environment.
a.) Opportunities using solar energy making ceramics.
b.) Traditional sustainable ceramics, using agricultural and forest residues for energy.
c.) Increasing ceramics' value by their sustainability, a summary of economic, environmental and social benefits of traditional ceramics making and solar energy powered operations.
you should look at "mass ceramics" produced in large quantities.Or glass production. A problem getting more awareness, is boron-emission. There is no emission limit today, but it seems that this will change. Boron seems to have an impact on environment and health.
Large glass / glass-ceramic producers are starting research to find sorbents (cheap and efficient). Carbonates -based sorbents are in the focus now, but too expensive. I know that the company SCHOTT in Mainz/Germany has established a research group. But this is still at the beginning. This might be an intereting topic - maybe also for getting fundings.
