I need to use C-60 as Electron transport layer in Inverted planar perovskite solar cell. Which boat would be appropriate to use for thermal evaporation of C-60 ?
The boat for thermally evaporated C-60 is Alumina crucible with a tungsten heater. The requirements for the tungsten heater have to meet the power of your evaporator source which the heater is fitted into.
You can use molybdenum boats. they are used as heater and carriers for the material C60. They are available as standard parts for commertial evaporators.
Using ceramic or graphite boat my cause some contamination to the evaportaing materials.
We don't use molybdenum boats to do organic small molecules including C60 evaporation at all due to the contamination. The vaporised points of organic small molecules are much much lower than the temperature of alumina destruction. It is safe to use alumina crucibles. You can enquiry to the suppliers who provide an evaporator for organic materials deposition. From our experiences, tungsten or molybdenum boats are normally for metal or metal oxides depositions. Hope it helps.
You need to buy a crucible and associated heat source together for an organic material evaporation. The crucible size has to fit into a heater. Could you please consult with an evaporator supplier such as KJ Lesker? Hope it helps.
