I would like to initiate research on Voice matching in forensics and also like to setup the audio forensics laboratory in my Department. There I can demonstrate the experiments on Audio-Video analysis in Forensic aspect.
Not the best answer but I am an alumni of a program that now has an audio forensics masters program. Perhaps someone there might be of interest or help. I do not have any personal connections left there.
My recommendation is IV-12 Intelligent voice workstation. It is very convenient to examine the audio and video mixed files. It has the active audio and video separation technology, the separated wav file and the original video linkage. Voice locates the corresponding video location at any time, and the environment of the speaker is clear at a glance. It helps the appraiser to grasp the actual environment of the speaker, and to express his expression and abnormal limbs movements.
Kay Elemetrics products or Kay Pentax products, for example: Computerized Speech Lab (CSL) and Multi-Speech Options is a very good attempt. With less requirements, but good results would be Praat software. There is much software that are able to get voice or speech wav file without any compression very useful for a lot of applications.
