I am screening mulberry germplasm for salinity tolerance in pots which can hold 17 kg soil. I am observing wide variability among the mulberry accessions at EC 8 dS/m. Variability in necrosis, root characters, and leaf Na+ content and Na+/k were observed.

We raise the samplings from stem cuttings and plant them in pots after 4 months and impose the stress using Nacl, MgSo4 and CaCl2. We maintain these plants for 70 days and record the observation. But, since it is pot culture, I was asked to field validate the results. Can anyone suggest some simple molecular work to prove the resistance?
