If I use the gingival tissues at the base of the incisor, Is there any problem to prepare periodontitis rat model? I am new in this field. I want to show that inflammation (by measuring TNF-alpha) and oxidative stress (by measuring lipid peroxide and others) of gingival tissues can be ameliorated by some sorts of plant extracts, that is all. I made a small stitch on the surface (downside) of the gingival tissues and then surrounded the incisor  with its periodontium. I used surgical nylon thread to ligate around the gingiva of the incisor. A good suggestion would be highly appreciated.
