The proposed system deals with wideband frequency hopping. The system will be able to hop between three sub-bands, with each sub-carrier having a bandwidth of 40 MHz. The three sub-bands hopping range is as follows:
Sub-band 1 : 100 - 500 MHz
Sub-band 2 : 400 - 800 MHz
Sub-band 3: 1300-2000 MHz.
The modulation scheme will be BPSK and the signal will be transmitted through an OFDM modulator with either 64 or 128 point FFT. The system will then be implemented on a FPGA with a direct sampling RF ADC. Right now, I am trying to do the software simulation for the specs I mentioned on Simulink or MATLAB. Please share your thoughts on whether I should go for a Simulink or a MATLAB simulation for the specs, which are in RF range.
