I agree with you on the importance of choosing the right audience target. I know several good quality journal (including those mentioned above), but I want to know specifically if any of these provides the open access option for free.

I would say Applied Sciences or Geosciences journals by mdpi

Obviously, there are some. I would name Engineering Geology, Journal of Rock Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering and Bulletin of Engineering Geology and the Environment.

There are many journals that active are geomechanics field. I would say you can find them there in ASCE, ACM, IEEE, ICE, MDPI, Springer, Elsevier, etc.
