We are working with a tet-one inducible expression system, and we have been using Doxycycline for over expressing our gene of interest. We now want to move to in vivo work and would like to use doxycycline in feed of mice for this induction. I came across many papers where doxycycline was added to drinking water supplemented with sucrose; but some discussed it could cause dehydration in mice as well. So, feed is probably easier method of administration! Can anyone suggest a good starting dosage of doxycycline in feed for mice? They will be of 6-12 weeks age. Thank you.
