Can anyone suggest an applicable technique to make polarization for diluted magnetic semiconductor DMS thin film?

Normally we perform polarization of bulk material using electric field due to high voltage electrodes which sandwiched this material between them. My inquiry is this technique also applicable to thin film polarization.
