I want some information regarding reference electrodes e.g. SCE or Ag/AgCl of various companies and of which supplier should be in India and cost should be less than Rs.15000.
Dear: In fact, reference electrodes are always standard electrodes. Potential as well as current due to redox reactions at the working electrode is measured with respect to the reference electrode. So, you have no choice to alter reference electrode as per suggestions.
The proper reference electrode to use always depends on the conditions that are being applied for the electrochemical measurements desired. For example, Ag/AgCl is fine when using aqueous solutions, but is not a good reference electrode when using organic solvents. Depending on the type of electrodepostion being attempted, a simple Ag wire quasi-reference can be best, as many electrodeposition methods will contaminate and ruin a true reference electrode.
Seth Rasmussen is absolutely true. Additionally I must say that, if you want to deposit with temperature variation, a calomel reference electrode is not preferable for higher temperature. You can go for Ag|AgCl reference electrode in such case, being said so your bath is aqueous.
Cat. Nos. 1362053 (Scitech Scientifics) is one of such good electrode. You can go through the specifications, might be helpful.
