Heba Bedair I would suggest to make your question a little bit more specific at least to a country or region so that taxonomists can suggest you the appropriate literature. Generally, it the flora of the country/region that provides you the locality and coordinates of the previous collections. https://www.gbif.org/ GBIF can also be handy. Besides, you can search your species' distribution in the online herbaria records such as KEW, P, E, MO etc.
For Europe check:: Hultén H., Fries M. 1986. Atlas of north european vascular plants north of the tropic of cancer. Koelte Scientific Books Konigstein.
Meusel H., Jager E., Rauschert S., Weinert E. 1978. Vergleichende Chorologie der Zentral-europaischen Flora 2.- Jena, Gustav Fischer Verl.
For Africa distribution could be estimated from African Plants Database https://www.ville-ge.ch/musinfo/bd/cjb/africa/recherche.php
For Australia: Atlas of Living Australia https://www.ala.org.au/
As my precedessors said, POWO gives general information on distribution, there are many other books and websites, dealing with particular regions.
North America north of Mexico: PLANTS Database https://plants.usda.gov/home
Temperate South America: Zuloaga F.O., Morrone O., Belgrano M.J., Marticorena C., Marchesi E. (eds.) 2008. Catálogo de las Plantas Vasculares del Cono Sur (Argentina, Sur de Brasil, Chile, Paraguay y Uruguay). Monogr. Syst. Bot. Missouri Bot. Gard. 107(1): i–xcvi, 1–983; 107(2): i–xx, 985–2286; 107(3): i–xxi, 2287–3348.
Euro+Med Plantbase https://www.emplantbase.org/home.html include Egypt and other countries of North Africa, Near East, as well as Europe.
Every database has gaps and errors, so best way is to compare data from different databases whenever possible
All three volumes of the "Vergleichende Chorologie der Zentral-europaischen Flora" are also available online: http://chorologie.biologie.uni-halle.de/choro/
It depends on the floristic region you are looking for. For Latin America I think the work of Morrone (2017) is a good choice. It also applies for animals.
