I am currently working on a paper regarding the Herfindahl-Hirschman-Index (HHI) calculations for 66 countries using specific city population datasets. I am using Population.de and Africapolis websites. However, they have few datasets measured at the interval of 10 years from the 1950s. My main objective is to examine urban agglomeration variation in the last two decades (2000 to 2020) for 66 countries and determine the connection with economic performance. For this reason, I am asking if anyone has links to other credible databases to get population data for many cities in every country of choice. This will be very helpful for me. Thank you.

I wonder if the degree if urbanization dataset by the EC will help you? It is supposed to cover all countries.

Thank you for your suggestion. It is one of the sources I require since I have 22 developed European countries. however, the main challenge is getting such data for African and Asian developing countries. Could you have an additional suggestion, please?
