Hi, Anyone please let me know about effective natural foaming agent. I want to replace SLS with safer detergents for toothpaste formulation to market it. I tried coconut oil but not getting good results. Thanks in advance..!
Hey there, besides coconut oil, saponins from (mainly extracts from) Quillaja saponaria and Yucca schidigera have been used as surfactants from natural with some degree of success, you may want to consider using one of those or maybe even a mixture of both. See 10.1002/star.201400062; DOI: 10.1002/star.201400062; J. Anim. Sci. 2000; 77: 1–10 Some researchers have seen great potential in surfactant substances produced by B. subtilis in cassava wastewater. See doi:10.1016/j.biortech.2005.02.044. Hope this helps.
HI!! Yeah Biosurfactants give good foam and at the same time have good antibacterial acitivities as well. Major Biosurfactants that are studied are produced by Pseudomonas species and by bacillus subtilis. You can try, however the production at large scale & make it cost effective will be a problem. But Still you can read about it. Hope it helps.
I thought about microbial surfactants but as you mentioned, cost effectiveness is a major problem. Fabio Sir, I will try Quallaja saponaria. It is widely used in India traditionally. Lets hope for best. Thanks for advice.
I have a laboratory where I am dedicated to the extraction of saponins from Quillaja, is a small Lab, but I can produce different qualities saponins if interested I can send you a sample.
Of course, you can send me a sample. Also, I can provide you business opportunity by collaborating with pharmaceutical company in India to provide extract regular basis. Kindly contact me on [email protected] for further communication.
