We are scaling down our thin film R&D projects, and are looking to sell off / find a good home for our Thin-film & Nanoparticle Physical Vapour Deposition system. I was wondering if anyone could recommend a good equipment sales company, as we do not really have the resources to pack and ship the system / parts ourselves, so most of the online ebay type sales companies are not really suitable.
Please mention what country you are in or, at least, what continent. I would like such things for my R&D use. Would you care to further describe?
Hi w.s.l.Boyer, Sorry it was silly of me not to mention! We are located in Bergen Norway.
The High Vacuum Thin-film system itself is consists of a main working chamber with 4 iso 250 flanges & 1 ISO 100 flange which are used with interchangeable magnetrons and nanoparticle sources. It is pumped with a 1900l/s pfeiffer turbo pump. It has a load lock system attached that allows samples to be pumped down and transferred into the main chamber whilst retaining vacuum. The samples fit into some pre-fabricated frames, which accept 10cmx10cm or 5cmx5cm samples which can then be rotated between the different deposition positions. The system was designed to allow versatile fabrication of thin film / nanoparticle "sandwich" samples on medium sized substrates, with an emphasis on practical HV conditions suitable for industrial up-scaling. The control of all valves etc. done using a visual basic type interface with rs-485 serial - "ardiuno" type controllers for individual pieces of equipment. The down side is you need to be comfortable with developing the programming yourself, but it is infinitely expandable, and can be programmed to carry out various automatic routines, switching on power supples, changing gas flows etc. The magnetrons have 185mmx50mm targets and have been run with both DC and RF with normal and reactive sputtering.
