Myself and a colleague are writing a paper on the volumetric analysis of new bone growth in a tibial segmental defect (ovine). We have obtained serial CT examinations from post-op through 16 weeks in-vivo.

A survey of the literature does not produce much in the way of references for this method of bone quantitation.
