I am intending to calculate the energy dissipation during the 1st cycle of loading. i have attached the excel sheet which gives details for the 1st cyle of loading. i will be grateful if anyone can help me to find out the area under the hysteresis curve.

According to what I understand, some possible options can be used to calculating the area of your loop:
1 st way:
Using R for directly calculate the area of your polygon.
After trying some codes in R:
Getting the "NA" results means that your area should be closed, i guess (because the area of inside loop required).
> Data plot(Data$Loadplusve, Data$MidLVDTmm, type = "o", xlab = "Something (unit)", ylab = "Something (Unit)", main = "Main Tiltle")
> library(geometry)
> polyarea(x=Data$Loadplusve, y=Data$MidLVDTmm)

Now How do i get the energy dissipated from the system after getting the area of the hystersis loop?
I am sorry sir but I didn't get you. suppose, I got the area of hysteresis curve as 100 units ( Load axis in kN and displacement axis in meter). thus that mean my energy dissipation is 100 kN-m?
should I or should I not multiply it with the area of 1 square box in the graph to get final answer?
