Under my profile you may find an SDM of plants with maxent including references to the basic literature and some thought on the selection of the spatial resolution. In our bear SDM paper you may find further considerations on SDM, especially on selection of input data points and grid layers. Going backwards in my contributions you may find SDM studies with General Linear Models (deforestation and the reverse process).
