This plant is neither Sassafras albidum (Nutt.) Nees var. molle (Raf.) nor Ilex cassine L. because of flowers morphology. What the size of inflorescense, flowers and leaves of this bush and does in have any pubescense?
Idon't think this tree is Ocotea foetens. As Marcos Salas pointed out, the leaves shown in the attached photographs are not typical of the species, due to the absence (or present but not well marked) of glands at its base. O. foetens shows (always) such glands, sometimes a pair and other times more, and you can see them even from some distance. I suggest to check images of other Ocotea species, and even of several genera of Lauraceae.
